Lifting Lives Through the Law: Spring Update from Timpanogos Legal Center

May 21, 2026

Timpanogos Legal Center’s Spring 2026 newsletter highlights statewide impact, expanded legal services, and community support efforts across Utah. This edition includes TLC’s 2025 impact snapshot, Giving Machines campaign results, new immigration legal advice services, community events, hiring updates, and upcoming legal education opportunities.

This spring, TLC staff participated in statewide events focused on strengthening support for survivors and expanding access to justice across Utah, including the Utah Crime Victims Conference. These opportunities help our team stay connected with community partners, learn from others serving victims and families, and continue improving the way we support self-represented Utahns.

As demand for free legal services continues to grow, TLC remains focused on providing accessible legal support through our hotline, clinics, volunteer programs, and community partnerships. We are grateful to the volunteers, donors, attorneys, and supporters who help make this work possible statewide.

Statewide Impact and Services

2025 Impact Snapshot

In 2025, TLC provided more than 10,000 legal services statewide, representing a 12% increase from the previous year. As demand for legal support continues to grow, TLC remains committed to helping self-represented Utahns access information, guidance, and community resources during difficult moments.

Expanding Access: Immigration Legal Advice

This spring, TLC launched limited immigration legal advice appointments through our Online Clinic in partnership with the University of Utah Refugee and Immigration Law Clinic. We are grateful for partnerships that help expand access to legal services for vulnerable individuals and families throughout Utah.

Appointments are currently available on the second Tuesday of each month for eligible clients needing immigration-related legal guidance.

For more information, clients can email: TLCinfo@TimpLegal.org.

Community Support and Engagement

Giving Machines Campaign Results

During the holiday season, community members supported TLC through the Giving Machines "Light the Way" campaign.

Because of that support, our campaign raised (in addition to funds collected online):

$18,285 for TLC's legal hotline

$17,500 for legal clinic services
These contributions help ensure Utahns can continue accessing free legal guidance during family law, domestic violence, and housing matters.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported TLC through the campaign.

Community and Sponsorship Opportunities

TLC is currently exploring additional community and fundraising events for 2026 and 2027 as we continue building sustainable support for free legal services statewide.

We are especially interested in connecting with individuals, businesses, and organizations that may be interested in sponsorship opportunities, community partnership, in-kind donations, or event support.

If you know someone who may be interested in supporting TLC's work, please contact: Rachel Ekman, Development Director, Rachel@TimpLegal.org, 801-609-5565
