Timpanogos Legal Center’s Summer 2026 newsletter highlights upcoming events, expanded access to legal services, volunteer opportunities, community partnerships and other updates from across TLC. See how our community is helping us continue providing free legal support to Utahns statewide.
This summer, we’re sharing updates from across Timpanogos Legal Center, including upcoming opportunities to support our work, new resources to make legal help more accessible, community partnerships, volunteer opportunities and what’s ahead this fall.
When one client first came to TLC, they were unsure how to navigate the legal system on their own. Over time, they returned to the clinic for help understanding their options, responding to developments in their case and learning how to advocate for themselves.
“I wouldn't have known what to do without you guys. The first time I came in, I was so afraid of being seen that you took me aside so I could tell my story. Since then, I've learned how to respond and how to move forward. Learning how to fight for myself has been huge. Every time I come in, I learn something new. Now I have confidence in moving forward because of the assistance I've received at the clinic.”
Stories like this show what accessible legal help can mean over time. Sometimes it isn't one conversation or one appointment. It's having somewhere to turn as a case changes, questions arise and someone gains the confidence to keep moving forward.
TLC's first golf tournament is coming this fall, and we would love to have you join us.

TLC is participating in the Target Circle Community Giving Program through Sept. 30.
Target Circle members can use the votes they earn through eligible Target purchases to help direct Target's charitable giving to Timpanogos Legal Center. There is no additional cost to participate, and every vote helps TLC receive a larger share of the available funding.
One of our goals this year is simple: help more Utahns know TLC exists.
When someone is navigating abuse, divorce, custody, housing instability or another difficult legal situation without an attorney, knowing where to turn can make a significant difference. Greater awareness also helps TLC build the community of volunteers, donors and partners needed to keep these services free.
This summer, we began hosting small Get to Know TLC gatherings where community members can learn about our work and the need for accessible legal services across Utah. Another gathering is being planned for Utah County this September.
Interested in hosting a future gathering? You provide a small gathering space and invite friends, family members, colleagues or neighbors. TLC will bring the information and speakers and help make the gathering easy to host.

TLC has long been able to work with interpreters to provide our legal services to clients who speak languages other than English. What hasn't always been easy is knowing how to connect with TLC and request that language support.
We recently added new language access resources throughout our website to make that process clearer. Visitors can find information in more than 20 languages explaining how to contact TLC and access our free legal services with interpreter support when needed.
If you work with individuals or families who could benefit from TLC's services but may face a language barrier, we encourage you to bookmark and share this resource.

TLC clients may now be referred for free virtual therapeutic support provided pro bono by Nancy Florence, a UK-trained psychotherapist and executive coach.
This short-term support may be helpful for clients navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship trauma or the emotional impact of abuse, separation, custody issues or other major family transitions.

TLC continues to host monthly Advocate Connect meetings via Zoom in collaboration with the Utah Office for Victims of Crime and Utah Crime Victims Legal Clinic.
These statewide conversations give victim advocates an opportunity to learn about community and legal resources, share strategies and connect with others working to support survivors throughout Utah.
Strong relationships among service providers make it easier to connect someone with the right resources when they need them.

TLC staff have been connecting with attorneys, advocates and organizations working to improve access to justice this summer.
Recent activities have included the Utah Minority Bar Association's Juneteenth Celebration, the Restoring Ancestral Winds Conference and the Equal Justice Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
These opportunities help TLC strengthen partnerships, learn from others doing this work and make more people aware of the free legal resources available to Utah communities.
TLC's free virtual Continuing Legal Education series will return this fall, with new trainings for attorneys and legal professionals across Utah.
Our CLEs focus on practical topics relevant to family law, victim services and access to justice. Most are offered virtually at no cost, making it easy to participate from anywhere in the state.
We are currently finalizing the 2026-2027 schedule and will begin sending registration information soon.

Timpanogos Legal Center has been selected to participate in Live PC Give PC on Nov. 6.
While TLC serves Utahns statewide, Summit County residents accessed our free legal services 84 times from July 2025 through June 2026, primarily through our Legal Advice Hotline. We're excited for the opportunity to highlight this work and connect more Summit County residents with free legal support.
This summer, TLC welcomed Anabel Francucci as our new Legal Assistant.
Anabel supports client communication, screening, scheduling and other work that helps connect Utahns with TLC's legal services. We're excited to have her on the team as TLC continues responding to the need for free legal assistance statewide.
TLC's work is strengthened by volunteers with a wide range of skills and backgrounds.
Attorneys and legal professionals can provide limited-scope legal advice through our virtual and in-person clinics. Volunteer attorneys are especially important to helping TLC meet the growing demand for free legal services statewide.
Attorneys licensed outside Utah and Utah attorneys on inactive status may also qualify to provide pro bono services through TLC under Utah's special pro bono rule.
Students and community volunteers may assist with clinic note-taking, community outreach tables, events, fundraising activities and other projects based on current needs.

TLC never charges clients for services. Donations help ensure Utahns can receive legal information and guidance regardless of their ability to afford an attorney. Even small gifts can help provide direct legal assistance:
TLC is also now able to accept gifts through Donor-Advised Funds.
One of the simplest ways you can support TLC is by helping someone know where to turn.
If you know someone navigating a divorce, custody issue, protective order, housing problem or other civil legal matter without an attorney, please share TLC's services with them.
